Danish American Center (DAC)

Volunteer-run, membership-based cultural center on the west bank of the Mississippi River in south Minneapolis. Founded in 2005 through the merger of the Danish American Fellowship and Danebo Home (a senior residence built in 1924), the DAC serves over 800 member households. Offers Danish language and culinary classes, art and history exhibitions, concerts, social dancing, genealogy consultations, and a library. Hosts public events including æbleskiver breakfasts and an annual Danish Day festival honoring Danish Constitution Day (Grundlovsdag) on the first Sunday in June. The historic four-story brick building features an Atrium hall, Kaffestue, Tivoli Lounge, art gallery, and overnight rooms available for member rental.
